National age group swimmers with Steve
Steph did herself proud by just making the final of the 100m backstroke in 10th position, but she had other plans! Going out very strongly with a good start, she kept in contention for the full 100 metres, touching in 8th position!
Congratulations to Yeovil & District Swimming Club
Yeovil win Top Visiting Club award at TDS Summer Level 3 open meet. Well done to all their swimmers!!
Yeovil & District Time Trials
Yeovil and District Swimming Club hosted another great time trails this Sunday 22nd April at Oxley Sports centre. Swimmers from Yeovil, Wells & Shepton Mallet, Heron, North Dorset Turbos and Bridport Barracuds all took part. It was amazing to see so many young swimmers entering the events and so eager to develop their racing skills. The afternoon saw some very competitive racing, with 37 swimmers aged 11 and under, it was wonderful to see so many very young swimmers trying new events for the first time also developing their starting, turning and stroke skills.
The judges all agreed it was fantastic to see so many really young swimmers turning and finishing correctly. During the event the judges spent time talking to the young swimmers when infringements were made to explain what the swimmers needed to do to improve their skills. In all, 115 p.b’s were gained, new friendships made and of course a lot of horse parents who had cheered loudly all afternoon.
The biggest excitement came at the end of the day when the skins events began. With the eventual winners fighting off some very stiff competition in the fast, furious and very close racing. The Coaches from Wells & Shepton Mallet thought that the whole day’s events were a fantastic success and will be coming back with their swimmers for the next Time Trials in July. As well as the first time swimmers it was good to see numerous parents of YDSC swimmers trying their hands at time keeping for the first time and young volunteers helping the officials, recording times and posting results

Cyprus Training Camp 2012
Training camp was a great week with some swimmers trebaling thier normal weekly volumes.
There was a big focus on swimming skills as well as training and there was some great use of video analysis from the team satff with the swimmers.
This is availible from team staff, please let them know if you want the footage.
The hotel was outstanding once again.
Well done to all the swimmers who went, won awards when there and who have come back and continued thier hard work!
Many thanks to the team manager Nicki A and Pete B for being on the camp and all the expert medical advice from Linda P.
Looking forward to next year!
Welcome Jenna Ingram, new club/network Physio
Jenna will be supporting the network of clubs and TDS with monthly physiotherapy visits. These will normally be on the 1st Wednesday of each month at the TDS squad session from 7-9pm. (the April day will be on the 2nd Wednesday). It is anticipated the consultation/treatment will be in 20minute slots.
Jenna will also be available for interim treatment/consultation at a cost of £15 which is a great rate for a physio.
Swimmers need to complete a consent form proir to seeing Jenna and it is recommended that young swimmers bring a parent.
This is a very professional step forward for the club as we continue to grow and develop with the network of clubs. We would like to thank Jenna for her support moving forward.
